Beverley Newman, MS
As Communications Specialist, Beverley leads proposal writing and grant reporting efforts, and oversees the coordination of the IMPT’s website, social media, outreach materials, and publications. She joined the IMPT Secretariat in November 2014, bringing with her several years of communications, research, and fundraising experience in international development and environmental policy. Beverley holds a Master of Science degree in Africa and International Development from the Centre of African Studies at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Her studies had a special focus on women’s empowerment and gender equality, with a strong interest in women’s health. In addition, she holds an MA (Hons) in Arabic and Politics, also from the University of Edinburgh.
Beverley is an avid cyclist and runner, and loves going on outdoor adventures with her dog, Chloe. She enjoys participating in local community service efforts, especially those related to promoting walking and cycling. She is also a passionate advocate for animal welfare, and volunteers with a dog training and socialization group at a local animal shelter.
